This sweet family, Erin and Sean, welcomed their first baby, Wyatt, into their home in Atlanta, GA. With both parents being artists, everything about the nursery was beautifully curated and wonderfully colorful! Many friends and family contributed to the bright and fresh decor! Lots of items were handmade by themselves and friends, or vintage family items. I loved photographing their lifestyle newborn session. Here is a quote from mom about planning for the nursery “I think my favorite thing about preparing the nursery was how personal we were able to make it by finding new items we really loved and stuff we already had. I loved picking out art from our collection and making new special pieces for him. And I really loved the amazing animal heads and mobile made by our friends.”
I absolutely love this advice that Erin has for expecting moms! “Nothing will go like you planned. Sometimes you have to let go of the rules you made for yourself. You say things like “My child isn’t going to have white noise machine! He needs to learn how to sleep without one!” Then you bring him home and you find yourself buying a white noise machine off of Amazon at 2 am. If people want to help, let them! Don’t be afraid to tell people what you need help with. Listen to other mom’s advice, but always trust your own instincts. Most importantly swaddle early and swaddle often!”
Thank you to Grey Likes Baby for featuring this session on their blog!
Here is the info Mom gave me about all the nursery details:
Nursery paint is Behr Falling Snow
Crib- Stork Craft Hillcrest from Amazon.
Rug- Target (I need this rug in my house!)
Most of the art was made by her and her husband along with close friends!
Space Bear – Cactus Club
Animal heads – made by my friend Amber
Mobile- made by her friend Audrey
The rocking chair was her Grandmother’s and every time she sits in it she thinks about her. Her mom recovered it and made her a little pouf to put her feet up on.
